I Can Do That! Summer 2007

Summer 2007 - The I Can Do That! summer program usually involves between twelve and fifteen school sites and focuses mainly on students with special needs. During the Extended School Year, I Can Do That! provides students with opportunities for learning in the Arts which are designed to be educational, fun, relaxing, and confidence-building to encourage and support kids needing special education services.

Highlights from I Can Do That! Summer 2007:

Luther Burbank High School

Extended School Year students attending Luther Burbank High School worked with professional artist Nicole Ponce this summer. Ms. Ponce introduced the students to a variety of visual arts forms from varying cultures and also helped them explore a wide-range of materials and media. In a lesson on Italian street painting the students were shown how to produce chalk, which they then used to create "paintings" on the sidewalk outside their classroom.
