Very Special Arts Days (VSA Days) are one-day events for children of all abilities during the summer. Each day features high-quality performances by very special artists, displays of visual artwork created by VSA arts of California at Sacramento students each spring, plus several Funshops (hands-on workshops in the arts) such as collage, mobiles, yarn painting, block print-making, and ink-blot butterflies.
VSA Days is an interactive project of VSA arts of California at Sacramento, City of Sacramento Access Leisure, the Sacramento Zoo, and Fairytale Town. The Days are designed to:
- allow kids of all backgrounds and abilities to interact, create, and have fun
- build the self-esteem, communication, self-direction, socialization, and behavior of special kids through the Arts
- enhance community acceptance and awareness of the talents and capabilities of ALL children
