Follow the Star! A Very Special Festival of the Arts, Friday, February 3, 2006:
This Winter festival celebrated the 20th Anniversary of Very Special Arts Sacramento. Nearly 400 Sacramento area students attended the event and almost all of them were part of an onstage performance of either hip-hop, aztec or jazz dance or music. The LdV Blues Band kicked-off the show, playing rock 'n' roll classics. Children enjoyed the performances as well as funshop activities where they made simple art projects that they could take home with them. SCUSD administrators as well as Sacramento County Supervisor Illa Collin (who made possible VSAS's first festival 20 years ago) were among our very special guests at this year's celebration.
