Follow the Star! 4th annual WinterVery Special Festival of the Arts, Friday, February 9, 2007:

Very Special Arts California at Sacramento (VSAS), in partnership with California State University Sacramento (CSUS) and the Sacramento State University Library Gallery, presented the 4th annual Winter Very Special Festival of the Arts Friday, February 9, 2007 at the Sacramento State University Union.

Performances included Hip Hop dance, Theatre Arts presentations, four songs from the LdV Blues Band, Aztec dance, and an interpretive jazz dance. Performances concluded with a Hip Hop lesson experienced by the entire audience and taught by VSAS and SCC Transition Program student Bylyn Lewis. Hundreds of pieces of artwork (ceramics, watercolor, and multi-media) were on display in the University Ballroom as well.

Students got a chance to enjoy 26 various arts workshops (funshops) in the Redwood Room. Funshops included such activites as self-portrait workshops, yarn and beeswax imprints, bookmark making, turn-table drawing, and beading. Funshop visitors also got to enjoy a catooning workshop by professional illustrator Pat Dawson and a tap-dance demo performed by LdV visually impaired students.
