Follow the Star! 5th annual Winter Very Special Festival of the Arts, Friday, January 25, 2008:
Very Special Arts California at Sacramento (VSAS), in partnership with California State University Sacramento (CSUS), presented the 5th annual Winter Very Special Festival of the Arts Friday, January 25, 2008 at the Sacramento State University Union.
Performances included an LdV Blues Band concert, Hip Hop dance, Theatre Arts presentations, Salsa Dance, Break-Dance, and an interpretive jazz dance. Hundreds of pieces of artwork (ceramics, watercolor, and multi-media) were on display in the University Ballroom as well.
Students got a chance to enjoy 26 various arts workshops (funshops) in the Redwood Room. Funshops included such activites as self-portrait workshops, name bracelets, poem pictures, turn-table drawing, and stryro-foam creations. Funshop visitors also got to enjoy a catooning workshop by professional illustrator Pat Dawson.
The festival would not have been possible without the help financial and in-kind supporters and volunteers from our local community. VSAS extends a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who help make Friday a very special day for our very special kids!
