November 30-December 2, 2006: VSA Art Show and Keynote Speech in San Francisco
VSAS displayed artwork from I Can Do That! and Artshift, two of its nationally commendated artist residency programs, at San Francisco's Moscone Center November 30 and December 1, 2006. The Very Special Artshow was part of the California School Boards Association's 2006 Annual Education Conference. The conference included a Fellowship Breakfast the morning of December 2, 2006, at which VSACA Executive Director Alice Parente presented the Keynote Speech. Parente's speech highlighted the experiences of VSAS students who overcome disabilities to succeed in school and life. (Photos of the exhibit are featured below.)
