VSAS participate in this year's Art Fiesta

Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8 2008, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm; Town & Country Village - VSAS will sell children's artwork from it's two artist-residency programs, Artshift and I Can Do That!, at the 50th anniversary production of Art Fiesta. The art show is a major fundraiser for Sacramento Suburban Kiwanis, a service organization of volunteers supporting the needs of children and communities. I Can Do That! students perform at Children's Miracle Network Celebration Breakfast

Tuesday, April 1, 9:00 to 11:00 am; performance at 9:30 am - I Can Do That! students from Luther Burbank High School students (below) gave a Hip Hop performance at this event which celebrated the 2008 fundraising efforts for UC Davis Children's Hospital and the M.I.N.D. Institute.

I Can Do That! students perform at CSUS Arts Resource Fair

Saturday, March 8, 2008 - The Hip Hop Crew from Leonardo da Vinci school will perform twice for attendees of the Arts Resource Fair at the Sacramento State University Union. The first performance will begin at 2:00 pm in the Redwood Room, followed by a presentation on I Can Do That! by Very Special Arts California Executive Director, Alice Parente. The Second performnace will take place as part of the Fair's closing ceremonies in the University Union Ballroom at 3:30 pm.

Open Eyes...Open Hearts Training

Wednesday, January 16, 2008 - Fall 2007 I Can Do That! teaching artists will participate in an ability awareness training follow-up session, sharing stories from their classroom experience and gaining further knowledge on how to best serve students with disabilities through the Arts.
